This time, we have a CAF Civity. These Class 331s run around the North. Here, we're at Leeds. The Class 331 is unique for being perhaps the first British Rail commuter EMU to use Direct Self Control.

This train's inverter makes use of 450Hz - 575Hz SVM, DSC, and only a few sync modes at higher speeds as the benefits of any type of Direct Self Regulation (DSR) wain.

This inverter's sensorless control algorithm is therefore realised for TSA's TME 52-15-4 ACIM, and motors with identical parameters, only. I believe pulse modes are 11P, 7P, and 5P. There could be a 3P at the train's extreme speed, but who knows.
