Do not try this on your own! Risk of data loss! I wanted to find out if applying violent force to a hard disk drive lead to destruction. Finally, IOPS dropped to zero and the drive stopped working for a short time. Yet it recovered and was accessible again. Actually, I don't know how many bad sectors have been generated by doing this.
