In the 20 months since I first posted a video on Youtube, not once have I tried to learn and record myself playing an Animenz piece. That all changes now! My first (and probably my last) attempt at playing an Animenz piece, Nagi no Asukara Medley! Since it is quite a special occasion, not to mention it was a lot of work, I decided that it was worthy of being the 50k subscriber special for this channel.
So why is this video 12+ minutes long when Animenz's was 9 minutes? Well, first of all I probably took the medley a bit slower than full tempo... some of the parts are pretty hard. But the real reason is that there's just a bonus track right at the end of the medley, with some cheesy words from me. Hope you stick around for the end (and not get chased away by my mediocre playing)!
I had to record the medley in four parts, because one single take on this would probably kill me... four parts still killed me. There are a few mistakes and fatfingered notes that I had to edit (I'm going to admit right now so that people don't rage at me later), because it really wasn't worth the time for me to try a retake in order to fix small errors.
I hope you guys stay for the entire video, it really shows how much I've improved as a pianist (hopefully), and how much there is for me to still work on! I would also love it if you stay through the end too :)
