Description

Tommy Wood MD, PhD, is a professor at University of Washington and an expert in how to leverage exercise and other tools, including supplements, specific mental training program programs, and much more around enhancing learning: both the rate and your depth of learning.
We discuss how to accelerate learning of cognitive information like languages or math and physical skills in sport and dance and creative endeavors of all kinds.
Having spent more that 2 decades studying neuroplasticity it’s rare that I sit down with somebody who really knows the literature of both past and present. Tommy is an expert in all of it and offers numerous zero-cost protocols that you can apply for brain health and to improve performance.
Here we are discussing how your brain learns to be distracted on a particular time scale (these days seconds to minutes) so even when outside distractions don’t exist they happen spontaneously.
And importantly, we discuss how you can reverse that pattern to obtain deep and sustained focus.
Please put any questions you have below and thank you for your interest in science!
