In this video you can hear the waveforms generated by the Siemens GTO-VVVF traction converters of the ÖBB Rh 2016 locomotive, also known as Siemens ER20. The sounds in this video were captured using an inductor, which captures electrical signals rather than 'regular' sound waves.

The Siemens ER20 is part of the EuroRunner family of diesel-electric locomotives. It uses a SIBAS 32 LCU (Locomotive Control Unit) which combines the functions of both TCU and CCU in one single 19" rack-mount unit.
