Secret History 15 - Capital and the Bronze Age Collapse

Description

Around 1200 BC, a perfect storm of climate change, drought, famine, and mass migration brought the Bronze Age world to a sudden and devastating end. Bronze — an alloy of tin and copper — was not just a weapon but the capital that fueled an early globalized trade network spanning Egypt, Mesopotamia, the Indus Valley, and China. The mysterious Sea Peoples, likely refugees fleeing collapse in Europe, swept through the eastern Mediterranean and destroyed Mycenaean Greece and the Hittite Empire. This catastrophe wiped out the very civilizations believed to have fought the legendary Trojan War.
