The Nottingham trams are all now handled by Alstom, with the Citadis 302 being in the best electrical condition out of the two fleets (Citadis 302 of the X02 family, and Bombardier's Incentro AT6/5 tram - signed for NET by Adtranz before acquisition). The Citadis 302 has a top speed rating of 70km/h.

The Citadis 302 belongs to the Citadis X02 platform - the second generation tram powered using three-phase asynchronous (induction) motors. These motors are driven with the three-phase AC (3AC) current output of a high-voltage converter.

The Onix 850DLP3 converter takes the 750VDC overhead supply and converts it to 3AC current. Its circuit consists of a highspeed pantrograph contact in parallel with a surge arrestor, line and precharge contacts, a high-frequency EMI filter which cancels ripple current harmonics by mutual inductance, a DC link capacitor with a link voltage sensor, an IGBT half-bridge, a resistor brake chopper featuring a power diode and IGBT, and only U-phase and V-phase motor-side current sensors since Kirchoff's law can be applied to Wye-wound motors for easily determining W-phase current. This is the standard configuration of a high-voltage power module working with Agate.
