The final major work of the French Canadian composer Claude Champagne was written in 1960 and dedicated to the Albertan Liberal senator Donald Cameron (1908-1989) and his wife. Champagne conceived the work, which he classified as a 'sonic fresco' inspired by the ranges of the Rocky Mountains.
