Description
3 pieces from Valery Gavrilin "Sketches" for piano 4 hands (The Little Clock, Waltz and Tarantella) Composed by Gavrilin, whose art is one of the most bright and authentic features of contemporary Russian music. He depicts the mood, expectations, hopes, and sorrows of people living in the contemporary era. Both Waltz and Tarantella, from “Sketches” for piano four hands composed during the 1970s, was also known as the music for the ballet Anyuta. This work demonstrates Gavrillin’s aptitude for producing programme miniature, character, and genre in his instrumental music, which formed his suites and variety entertainments. Both the aesthetics and the style in Gavrilin's art are vivid examples of neo-romantic and traditional Russian music.
