谢尔曼“火焰”被认为是英国在二战期间对谢尔曼坦克最成功的升级之一，其主武器为QF 17磅炮，这是英国QF 6磅炮的后继型号。
豹2AV的复合装甲中凸起的钢板和橡胶层有效吸收了76毫米M62弹的动能，使弹丸在穿透几英寸后停止。
